Do you feel like you live in the kitchen?
I don’t anymore. I have found some tricks to keep me out of the kitchen and out playing with my family!
I shop once a month for all the basic family supplies like shampoo, soap, tissues, laundry detergent, paper towels, condiments, and snacks. I made a master list of the things we buy every month. I run through the list and see what we need and then head out to the store.
When I get back I put everything away except for the snacks. I divide snack size portions for lunches and after school snacks in snack size Ziploc bags. I prepackage crunchy snacks as well as single servings of raw veggies
This was a huge hit last summer. Each child could pick 3 snacks and off we went for a day at the pool!
Now when I go grocery shopping I’m only buying the food we need for meals. I have found I only need to shop twice a month for food. When I get home, again I try to prepare as much of the food right away and only leave the last minute preparations for the day I serve the meal.
