Now we are organizing kitchen cabinets.
Some of my cabinets are just fine, like those with dishes in them. 🙂 Others could use some help. Can you relate?
Now is the time to open each cabinet, one by one, and get them organized. If you have the time and motivation, you can even take everything out and wipe them down!
My pantry is in cabinets now that I took out our built-in pantry. I tend to organize and straighten these cabinets about every 6-8 weeks.
Last year, I’d had it with this pantry cabinet. I went to the store and returned with matching Ziploc containers.
I LOVE being able to see all the chips and crackers we have open in such an organized way. It has taken us a few months, but we ate all those chips and are down to 3 containers.
This weekend, I tackled our cup cabinet.
My ELF decided to help me. 🙂
This summer, I was a little overzealous in my water bottle purchasing. Since the weather has turned cooler, we are using very few water bottles. And I added more coffee cups last week. I can never have enough travel coffee cups!
In order to organize this cabinet, I wanted an easier K-cup system and lid organizer. I bought these acrylic organizers in 2 sizes. The 2 smaller ones fit well in my cup cabinet.
I was able to fit 26 k-cups in the bin. I like that because I can stock it on the weekend and know that I will not need to refill it during the week. I also put the container near the side of the cabinet for when I over fill the bin.
I used the 2 large acrylic containers to corral the mini-blender and water bottles.
That cabinet looked great, but now I needed a place to put these bins!
I decided on this big corner cabinet that opens from both sides. First, I took out the old blender and moved the cookbooks.
Here are more BEFORE pictures.
The bins fit perfectly. And I was able to move the toaster up on the other side.
On the bottom shelf, I decided to add a giant 18 inch lazy susan for all the items I need to make breakfast. I added oatmeal from out of the pantry, bowls from above the refrigerator, and pancake mix.
On the podcast, I mentioned the cabinet we organized in the Fox 19 Kitchen Makeover. Ohhh, Ahhhh. The lazy susans are at minute 11:00.
The last cabinet I tackled holds our medicines, drinks, and baking mixes.
I just freshened up the medicine bin.
I love my to-go drinks bin. The little white packets on the left are dried milk stored in little pill bags. These are great to go with a K-cup and sugar packets. I was using mini creamers, but they got too hot in my car.
Looks like it’s almost time to make more iced tea bags.
How are your cabinets looking? Mine tend to do well for about 4-6 months, and then I just need to tweak them like I did today. Back in August, it took about 2 hours to corral my chips, including the trip to the store. Today it was 40 minutes.
How about you? How are your cabinets looking? Just do one at a time and let us know about your progress in the comments below!
