This is YOUR year. You CAN get your WHOLE house ORGANIZED!

Welcome to the 40 Weeks 1 Whole House Challenge!

Every August when the kids go back to school, I start a 40 week home organization challenge. Organizing your home is a skill that can be learned! Together we can all get our homes organized.

You have likely found this page after the challenge has started. That is OK! Just jump in where we are and get started.

August 2016 will mark the 5th start to the 40 Weeks 1 Whole House Challenge. For now, just search and organize your home room by room until the new challenge starts.

Why the 40 Weeks 1 Whole House Challenge works.

I have organized this house from top to bottom for the last 5 years. I keep making more progress, but it will never be perfect.

Organization is a journey, not a destination, and I am SO happy to be on that journey with you!

As a professional organizer and productivity expert, I have devised a weekly organization schedule that will naturally move you to a more organized home and lifestyle. This challenge is meant to be done every year. Just like seasonal deep cleaning, we need to revisit each area of our house each year.

The 40 Weeks 1 Whole House Challenge is more than just organization ideas or cute ways to use fun containers. This challenge is designed for women who are ready to take back control of their homes. We are more interested in organizational solutions that work than beautiful magazine images and complex DIY projects.

Actionable steps to change your mindset and your home organization systems are what you will find here.

How do I get started?

The first step in getting your home organized is getting control of your kitchen counter papers. The Sunday Basket is my solution to everyday paper clutter and step one in getting control of your home organization.

I always suggest starting with the Sunday Basket. On average, it takes about 6 weeks for the Sunday Baskets system to become a habit.

You can start by downloading my free Sunday Planning Printables here. You will also receive a series of emails to help you get started using the Sunday Basket successfully.

Moving Beyond Week 1…

While it can be hard to get started, maintaining momentum for the WHOLE year to get your house organized is a tall order. And no matter how you slice it, it does take a whole year to get through the house. So I have created numerous free, and a few paid ways, to keep you on track.

#1 Get the Checklist

I don’t know what it is about checking things off a list, but it does help! Download the 2015-2016 40 Weeks 1 Whole House Checklist here.

#2 Download the App

The Organize 365 APP is the easiest way to find all the weekly information to guide you through the 40 Weeks 1 Whole House Challenge. You can read all about it here.

Just search in your phone or tablets’ app store for Organize 365. The ONLY thing on the Organize 365 App is the 40 Week 1 Whole House Challenge posts and podcasts. 🙂

#3 Subscribe to the Weekly Podcast

You can find the previously recorded weekly podcasts to go with each week of the 40 Weeks 1 Whole House Challenge. Just search Organize 365 in your podcast app. Here is a post I wrote about how to listen to podcasts.

Podcast

These podcasts are 15 -20 minutes long, just long enough for you to listen as you walk home from the bus stop, change the laundry, and clean up the kitchen… or listen on your commute home from work.

Podcasting allows me to tell you stories and motivate you in the weekly challenges in addition to the weekly blog posts. Subscribe here in iTunes and Stitcher.

NOTE – the 40 Weeks 1 Whole House podcasts were recorded in the 2014-15 school year. So scroll back to episode 1 to start listening. Then check out my newer podcasts which dive deeper into how to organize different life stages and unexpected events.

#4 Stay on Track with Weekly Emails

I know “they” say you shouldn’t use your email inbox as a to do list, but I do. 🙂

If your email inbox is your “to do list” like it is mine, sign up for the 40 Weeks 1 Whole House email list.

This is a VERY basic email to remind you to go read the post and keep you on track. Pay once and get the emails year… after year… after year. All the details are here.
