I double dog dare you to finish ONE unfinished project!
Last week I shared that I would be spending 4 days on my unfinished projects.
This mess of a bathroom…
And these unsightly garden beds…
were weighing heavily on my mind.
I have stripped and painted many rooms in my day, so my bathroom project did not scare me from a work perspective… it was the time.
Strip the wallpaper.
Patch the holes.
Prime the walls.
Find a color and paint the walls.
Hang the hardware.
Rewire and hang the new light.
And since I was dreading the outside work more, I started there.
Since the removal of the trampoline by Junk King in May this bed has…sat.
I needed to rake up the mulch, treat the weeds and pull up the black garden liner I had put down years before.
It was a hot job I dreaded, and one I anticipated would take FOR. EV. ER.
Guess how long it took…
ONE HOUR! Oh My Goodness what was I whining about?!
I had a little more time, so I went over to this tree that was not even on my list and trimmed that up.
Now this flower bed was going to be harder.
I had already weeded the rest of our flower beds and started to tackle this one back in June when I weeded my whole yard in 4 hours.
Just like with the trampoline area, I wanted to prep this area for grass. It is my current favorite “flower.”
It was hot.
I knew I would sweat – not something I am fond of!
I knew I would not be done in an hour!
But I got started. I had 3 hours on Saturday to devote to the project at hand and got about 60% of the way done.
Later that night when we got home at 8:30, I did a quick 30 minutes of weeding other beds and pulled out the Lamb’s Ear.
Finally, after church, I gave it another 90 minutes and got this far…
I still have about 6 little trees to get rid of and will need to spread the trash bags out for the next 3 weeks of trash!
Sunday night, I finished stripping the wallpaper and patched the walls with my little helper!
This week, I am priming and working on the electrical in the bathroom.
Then we need to pick the final color for the bathroom, and I will finish the painting this weekend.
It was painful to give up so much time to these projects, but I am SO glad I did!
So, I double dog dare YOU to finish ONE unfinished project. What will it be?
